Globe Telecom Inc. said Friday it rolled out 256 new 5G sites in the first half of 2024, expanding its 5G network coverage across the country.
The latest development brings Globe’s 5G outdoor coverage in the National Capital Region (NCR) to 98.45 percent.
Meanwhile, key cities in Visayas and Mindanao now boast of a 5G outdoor coverage rate of 94.19 percent, underscoring its commitment to bringing cutting-edge technology to more people, no matter where they are.
The 5G coverage expansion underscores Globe’s ongoing efforts to push the boundaries of digital connectivity and empower Filipinos with faster, more reliable internet services.
Globe registered over 7 million devices connected to Globe’s 5G network in June 2024, a clear indicator of the growing demand for high-speed mobile data and the company’s ability to meet that demand.
“Our aggressive 5G rollout across the country is a crucial part of our strategy to ensure that the Philippines is at the forefront of digital transformation,” said Joel Agustin, Globe senior vice president and head of service planning and engineering.
“We are proud to see how our investments are resulting in positive change, enabling our customers to enjoy seamless digital experiences wherever they are,” he said.
Globe also made significant strides on the international front, having forged 5G roaming partnerships with 167 operators across 87 destinations.
These partnerships ensure that Globe customers enjoy high-speed data both in the Philippines and abroad. The move not only enhances user experience but strengthens Globe’s position as a global telecom leader.
Globe’s 5G network helps power the country’s digital future, offering faster speeds, lower latency and a more reliable connection, all of which are essential for economic growth and development.
