German companies in the Philippines remain optimistic about the business climate, but a recent survey highlights key challenges that need to be addressed.
The AHK World Business Outlook Survey for Spring 2024 reveals German businesses’ concerns on economic policies, high energy prices, supply chain disruptions, and infrastructure limitations, according to the German-Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GPCCI).
“We hope the government will prioritize the completion of promised infrastructure projects, tackle high energy costs, and promote ease of doing business. We also hope that these issues will be addressed by the President during his next state of the nation address,” said GPCCI president Marie Antoniette Mariano.
Mariano said addressing these concerns is crucial to sustaining the positive momentum German businesses are experiencing. The GPCCI said it is committed to collaborating with the government to find solutions.
