The Chinese Embassy in Manila, in collaboration with the Philippine Buddhism Federation Inc., the Seng Guan Buddhist Temple, Senator Imee Marcos and Vice Mayor Yul Servo Nieto, delivered relief packs to residents of Barangay 242 affected by Typhoon Carina last month.

The activity, dubbed as the “Filipino Chinese Friendship Relief Operations,” took place at the Seng Guan Temple in Manila on July 30, 2024.

The groups distributed 10,000 kilograms of rice, 2,000 bags of bread and 10,000 T-shirts to families who were affected by floods caused by Typhoon Carina and the enhanced southwest monsoon.

Chinese Embassy director Wang Wen Hao, Consul Cao Kai Wen, along with representatives from various Binondo associations, also attended the event.

The relief operation not only addressed urgent needs but also underscored the strong spirit of solidarity and cooperation among various groups in the community.

Before this, Chinese Ambassador to the Philippines Huang Xi Lian and Vice Mayor Nieto personally handed out relief goods worth over P3.5 million to the typhoon victims in Manila on July 27, 2024.

The relief packages contained rice, canned food and dry noodles for the affected families.
