The National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP) has opened an exhibit celebrating renowned Katipunera Gregoria de Jesus’ life lessons at the Manila City Hall.

Opened on Aug. 5, the “Tagubilin: The Life Lessons of Gregoria de Jesus” exhibition features ten paintings depicting the ten lessons of de Jesus, which she mentioned at the end of her biography on Nov. 5, 1928. The exhibit is part of the preparations for de Jesus’ upcoming 150th birth anniversary next year.

The opening of the exhibit was graced by NHCP executive director Carminda R. Arevalo, Manila City mayor Honey Lacuna-Pangan, Manila City vice-mayor Yul Servo Nieto, and Bahay Nakpil-Bautista Foundation, Inc.’s Bobby Nakpil Santos-Viola.

The exhibit was first opened in the Caloocan City Hall (South) on May 9 before being transferred to the Manila City Hall with the help of the Department of Tourism, Culture, and Arts of Manila, headed by Charlie Duñgo.

The exhibit will run until Aug. 16 as part of the celebration of History Month.
