American actress Gillian Anderson and Spanish star Ursula Corbero, along with other celebrities and personalities from different parts of the globe are featured in a campaign shot by German fine art and fashion photographer Juergen Teller.
The cast represents the “Amazonas of today”, individuals of different cultures and identities drawing a kaleidoscope of humanity that reflects Loewe’s Amazona bag’s prismatic identity.
What is Amazona
The Amazona was launched in 1975 when women were beginning to gain more equality and independence in the workplace. Inspired by the spirit of the time, the bag’s hand-held style was designed to hold everything needed over the course of a day.
Coinciding with Loewe’s 175th anniversary, the Amazona has been reimagined and presented as part of the fall/winter 2021 runway collection. Three new shapes feature in the campaign: the Amazona 19 Square, the Amazona 28, and the upcoming Amazona 23 for spring/summer 2022. Each is available in nappa calfskin and features the house’s signature Anagram jacquard, with a fully functional padlock sealing the style.

Capturing the spirit of the moment and of the very inspiration of the 40-plus-year-old line are empowered individuals who are helping shape the industry they are in.
Anderson, who first achieved international recognition as Dana Scully on “X-Files”, recently received an Emmy, a SAG Award, a Critic’s Choice Award, and a Golden Globe Award for her portrayal of former British prime minister Margaret Thatcher in the royal drama “The Crown”. She also stars as a sex therapist in another Netflix hit, “Sex Education”.
Prior to becoming internationally popular for appearing in TV series “La Casa de Papel” (“Money Heist”) as Tokyo, Corbero also starred in films “Tree of Blood” and “Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins”, and TV series “Fisica o quimica” and “Isabel”.
Also part of the Teller-shot campaign are American award-winning singer, writer, painter, and performance artist Justin Vivian Bond; actress and model Jamie Clayton; Venezuelan musician, singer, composer, record producer, and DJ Arca (Alejandra Ghersi); Pattern Beauty chief executive and “Black-ish” star Tracee Ellis Ross; Turner Prize-nominated British artist Anthea Hamilton; South Korean singer HyunA; American author and teacher Susanna Moore; Chinese model Liu Wen; and British actor Nabhaan Rizwan of BBC’s “Informer”.
The portraits were shot in London, Seoul, New York, Los Angeles, Altadena, Barcelona, Madrid, Shanghai, and France.
