Lawmen arrested a suspected Chinese drug dealer operating in southern Metro Manila and seized P251-million worth of shabu in a buy-bust operation in Parañaque City.
The suspect was identified as Zhizun Chen, 38, an auto supply staff and resident of Soler Street in Binondo, Manila.
A composite team from the National Capital Region Police Office, Southern Police District, Armed Forces of the Philippines, and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency conducted the entrapment operation at the parking lot of S&R Shopping Center in Barangay Baclaran around 3:30 p.m. on Sunday.
Seized from Chen were 38 kilos of shabu, a mobile phone, a maroon Mitsubishi Lancer, a silver Chrysler, and the money used in the entrapment operation.
Metro Manila police chief M/Gen. Vicente Danao said the suspect and the pieces of evidence recovered were turned over to PDEA for proper disposition.
Chen will be charged with violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002 before the Paranaque City prosecutor’s office.
“The operations of the agencies that have come together have been enormous to seize the said amount of shabu. Such cooperation and coordination is the key so that we can confiscate more and arrest drug dealers,” Danao said.
Last month, the Southern Police District, Taguig local police, and PDEA arrested two big-time drug dealers in Taguig City. The operation resulted in the seizure of two kilos of shabu valued at P13 million.
