There been several studies conducted here in Asia pointing to the benefits of yunzhi mushroom (Coriolus versicolor), commonly known as 'Turkey Tail' or 'Cloud' mushroom.
It contains compounds such as Polysaccharide Krestin (PSK) and Polysaccharopeptide (PSP) which are believed to improve immune qualities, destroy some cancer cells and, when used together with chemotherapy, reduces its side effects.
Its antibiotic, antiviral, antioxidant, and anti-fungal have also been discovered. It is said to be rich in active compounds like sterols, triterpenes, and alkaloids, and is widely recommended in traditional Chinese medicine for alleviating physical distress like tiredness or fatigue, lack of appetite, and even respiratory conditions like coughing and shortness of breath as well as preventing infections.
Perhaps because there is not as much research and extensive clinical trials on yunzhi mushrooms outside of East Asia, people are not fully aware of its benefits, especially when it comes to its cancer-fighting capabilities.
But in a study published by the International Journal of Medical Sciences, it was shown that yunzhi mushrooms reduce fatigue and improve athletic performance – providing invigoration, increasing vital body energy, and even promoting and stimulating longevity.
According to the study, “the mushroom Coriolus versicolor has been used in traditional Chinese medicine to treat various conditions, including various types of cancers, chronic hepatitis, as well as infections of the upper respiratory, urinary, and digestive tracts and immunodeficient related diseases.”
Neucell’s Essence of Mushroom, a single plant extract formulation of 250 mg of yunzhi mushroom, was able to harness these properties to become a natural food supplement to support well-being, coupled with a balanced diet and exercise.
Clinical trials have shown that Neucell has the ability to stabilize the body’s white blood cell count, thus boosting the immune system. It can also help reduce known side effects of chemo and radiotherapies such as fatigue, poor appetite, pain, nausea, vomiting, and sweating.
Recommended dosage for taking Neucell as a food supplement if 2-4 capsules daily, while for those who are undergoing chemotherapy, the recommended dosage is 4-5 capsules after meals.
In the Philippines, Neucell’s Essence of Mushroom is approved by the Food and Drug Administration and is distributed by Dyna Drug Corp. For more information about Neucell’s Essence of Mushroom visit https://dynadrug.com
