PBBM tells new PAF Chief: Lead with agility, credibility, and resolve

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Thursday officially welcomed Lieutenant General Arthur Cordura as the new commanding general of the Philippine Air Force (PAF) during a Change of Command and Retirement Ceremony honoring outgoing chief Lieutenant General Stephen Parreño.

In his speech, the Commander-in-Chief praised Parreño for his dedicated service and expressed confidence in Cordura’s leadership, emphasizing the need for the Air Force to adapt to the evolving security landscape.

“As we bid farewell to Lieutenant General Parreño’s distinguished tenure, we now warmly congratulate the newly appointed Commanding General of the Philippine Air Force, Lieutenant General Arthur Cordura,” President Marcos said.

“With your steadfast leadership, you can guide the Air Force towards becoming an institution that is more agile, credible, and responsive to the demands of an ever-evolving security landscape,” he told Cordura, acknowledging the challenges ahead.

The President also urged the men and women of the Air Force to continue upholding the principles of honor, duty, and excellence, reiterating that their service is a source of national pride.

“These times call for vigilance and resolve. There is no room for complacency,” the President emphasized.

As part of his administration’s priorities, the Chief Executive assured the troops of the government’s commitment to the continued modernization of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, aiming to strengthen their capability to protect the nation and its people.

“We must ensure that the continued modernization of our armed forces remains a priority, empowering us to protect the ideals that define our nation,” he said.
