The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines has commended three employees of Puerto Princesa International Airport for honesty.
The three—Reywelyn Macabutas, Aika Carceller, and Richard Guillermo —returned a black bag containing cash amounting P100,000 and other valuables left by a foreigner at the airport last Saturday.
The airport workers found and took the bag left unattended at the table in the terminal’s arrival area, and turned it over to the CAAP Security and Intelligence Service office.
A few hours later, 45-year-old American-Vietnamese traveler Tien Trung Bui, a passenger of Philippine Airlines with flight PR 2347 from Mactan, Cebu, arrived looking for his bag inside the arrival area.
Upon confirmation that Bui owned the bag, the CSIS officers returned it to him.
Two other CAAP employees from Bacolod Silay Airport (BSA) and Zamboanga International Airport (ZIA) also showed honesty and diligence in the performance of their duties.
