Meralco finishes P124-m Taguig switching station

Power retailer Manila Electric Company (Meralco), a company led by businessman Manuel Pangilinan, said it completed the Napindan 115 kV Switching Station in Taguig City.

Meralco said that with a cost of P124.29 million, the project cuts in the existing Pinagbuhatan-SM Shangrila 115 kV line, allowing an alternate source of Cathay Pacific Steel Corp. (CAPASCO) and assuring voltage quality in the cities of Mandaluyong, Pasig and Taguig even when there is an outage on any of the sub-transmission lines.

Meralco demonstrates its commitment to provide safe, stable and reliable electricity service to its customers by investing on projects aimed to improve its electricity distribution system.

Among the major distribution network projects completed by Meralco in the first half of the year are the new gas-insulated switchgear Pallocan West Substation in Batangas City; and the expansion of the Eton Centris 115 kV-34.5 kV GIS Substation in Quezon City.

Meralco said it also completed the development of a new control house with switchgear room at the Novaliches Substation and the replacement of the 34.5 kV Switchgear No. 1 at Meycauayan Substation in Bulacan.

Meralco is the country’s biggest power distributor with nearly 8 million customers in its franchise area.
