CARATs took to their X accounts after a video of Seventeen’s Vernon on a film set went viral on Tuesday, May 14.
Fans are buzzing online trying to decipher what project he’s involved in, but many were hoping that this marks Vernon’s official acting debut.
Speculations on social media suggest that the rapper-dancer will have a cameo in the highly-anticipated second season of Netflix’s “XO, Kitty”, a spin-off of the popular “To All the Boys” series. Filming for season 2 is currently underway in South Korea, and season 1 even featured a cameo from 2PM’s Ok Taecyeon.
Another possibility gaining traction is a role in a movie. In 2022, news broke of American musician Anderson. Paak’s directorial debut, “K-Pops!”, a comedy-drama he’ll also write and star in. The plot, according to Pitchfork, revolves around a washed-up musician seeking songwriting opportunities with K-pop stars in Korea, only to discover his estranged son (played by his real-life son Soul Rasheed) is a rising K-pop idol.
Interestingly, “K-Pops!” is also filming in South Korea, fueling fan theories that Vernon might also be involved.
As of writing, Vernon’s agency, PLEDIS Entertainment, has not yet confirmed or denied if the Seventeen member will be starring in the series or the film.
Currently, together with his fellow members, Vernon is preparing for their shows in Japan for their “FOLLOW AGAIN” Tour.
