Solon cites OCTA poll giving PBBM 31% approval

A RANKING congressman has lauded a recent OCTA Research survey showing that 31 percent of the people support the administration of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. while only four percent back the opposition.

Senior Deputy Speaker and Pampanga Rep. Aurelio Gonzales said the gains of the Marcos administration in prioritizing the welfare of Filipinos could be discerned in the support indicated in the OCTA Research survey, which also showed only 20 percent of Filipinos support the Duterte family and their allies.

“We welcome the survey re sult that says President Marcos Jr. enjoys the support of a large part of the population. Ibig lang sabihin nito ay nararamdaman ng bawat pamilyang Pilipino ang mga programang ipinatutupad ng pamahalaan para sa kapakanan ng ating mga kababayan (It just means that every Filipino family feels the programs implemented by the government for the welfare of our countrymen),” Gonzales said.

He said the House of Representatives, under the leadership of Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez, will continue to support the legislative agenda of the President,  and will continue to find ways to respon d to the challenges of the Chief Executive to bring government services closer to the people.

“Kaya kami dito sa Kongreso, buo ang aming suporta sa lahat ng programa ng ating mahal na Pangulo. Halos natapos na namin ang mga priority legislation niya na kanyang sinabi sa LEDAC at sa kanyang dalawang nakaraang SONA (That is why we, in Congress, fully support all the programs of our dear President. We are almost done with the priority legislation as he has told the LEDAC (Legislative-Executive Development Advisory Council)and enunciated in his two previous SONAS (State of the Nation Address),” Gonzales said.

“I believe this show of s upport for President Marcos Jr. will only encourage his administration and us here at the House to tirelessly work for the welfare of Filipinos and the nation. Nakita naman natin ang sipag ng ating Pangulo sa pagkalap ng investments mula sa ibang bansa. Hindi siya tumitigil (We have seen the diligence of our President in gathering investments from other countries. He doesn’t stop),” he added.
