Top-seed Far Eastern University sustained its form coming off a key win the last time out as it clipped University of Perpetual Help System DALTA, 25-16, 25-20, 25-17, in their rubber match for the second championship berth in the V-League Women’s Collegiate Challenge at the Paco Arena in Manila yesterday.

After sweeping the first two sets, the Lady Tamaraws took control at 22-17 then Gerzel Petallo came off the bench to fire back-to-back points and Chenie Tagaod delivered a kill as they finished off the Lady Altas following a 23-25, 25-23, 25-17, 25-13 series-tying win last Friday that set up the decider.

FEU will thus take on College of Saint Benilde in Game 1 of the finals, also best-of-three affair, on Wednesday at 2 p.m.
“Mas pinag-focus ko sila, mas pinag-usap ko sila para makabalik kami sa gusto naming sistema, para hindi namin magising si Perps. Kasi iba rin trumabaho si Perps,” said FEU interim coach Manolo Refugia.
Mitzi Panangin anchored the Lady Tamaraws’ defense as she produced five of the team’s 12 blocks while Tagaod unleashed a 16-attack point game for a total of 17 markers.

The Lady Altas, who stunned the Lady Tamaraws, 25-21, 28-26, 26-24, in Game One, drew just nine points from Mary Rhose Dapol.
Perpetual Help will face University of the East for the bronze.
