Cops nab 3 suspects, seize P61 million shabu

Police busted three suspected drug dealers and seized nine kilos of shabu worth more than P61 million Monday night in Taguig City.

Arrested were Christian Ely Caliwag Desiderio, 19, and Jericho Rayos Torres, 19, both residents of Barangay Wawa, Taguig; and John Andree Galura Santos, 22, of Kalayaan Street, Barangay Ususan, also in Taguig.

The authorities conducted the buy-bust operation along Block 20 in Barangay Sta Ana Prudence around 9:30 p.m. One of the police operatives disguised as a buyer and was able to negotiate with the suspects resulting in their arrest.

Seized from the suspects were P61.2 million worth of shabu, 10 bundles of boodle money, and two mobile phones.

The suspects are now detained and will be charged with violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Two months ago, police also arrested in Taguig City two suspected drug dealers and seized eight kilos of shabu worth P54.5 million.

Arrested in an entrapment operation were Marisa Omar Asi, 34, and Muslimin Taudil Kamid, 32, both residents of Barangay Maharlika, Taguig City.

Operatives of the Southern Police District-Drug Enforcement Unit led by Lt. Col. Renante Galang and men from the District Mobile Force Battalion conducted the buy-bust operation at Block 128 Lot 4 in Barangay Maharlika.

All suspects are believed to be members of a drug syndicate operating in south Metro Manila and neighboring provinces.

The National Police vowed that the government’s crackdown on drug dealing in the country will continue with the goal of catching traffickers.
