Caloocan City is ranked eighth among cities in the country with the lowest crime rate, a report from the Philippine National Police said.
Data from the PNP showed that from January to July 2018, Caloocan City got 33.38 percent average monthly crime rate, while Ormoc City has the lowest crime rate with 16.24 percent.
In the National Capital Region, only Caloocan was listed among the top 10 cities with the lowest crime rates.
In February, a survey conducted by the National Police Commission showed Caloocan police also came out as the most trusted among other police stations in Metro Manila.
Mayor Oscar “Oca” Malapitan vowed to continue supporting the city police headed by Sr. Supt. Restituto Arcangel in their mandate to ensure peace and order in Caloocan.
“We are glad that we can see the effects of our combined efforts to lower crimes in Caloocan. I always instruct our policemen to increase police visibility by roaming around to prevent crimes,” Malapitan said.
