NGCP trains officers in Bataan, Zambales

BALANGA CITY—The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines will conduct communications training for energy information officers in the provinces of Bataan and Zambales next month in Subic.

“We want to help energy information officers better communicate with the electric-consuming public,” said NGCP Regional Corporate Communication officer Fely Francisco. “The training also aims to help them to always provide timely and accurate information to the public.”

Information officers and personnel of Penelco, Zameco I, Zameco II, OEDC, and other companies in the power industry will be invited in the training. PIA Bataan manager JM Garcia will be resource speaker in the training. 

“NGCP and PIA recognize the important role of electric cooperatives in our daily lives. We aim to bring them closer to the people and the people closer to them through fast and reliable communication,” Garcia said.     

The electric transmission company is also working closely with the local media for effective power reporting and accurate information dissemination. Toward that end, the NGCP Bataan Energy Press Corps was formed recently.

The NCGP previously conducted a seminar for engineers and personnel of electric cooperatives and companies in the province of Zambales and Pampanga.   

About 35 participants mostly engineers from Zambales 1 Electric Cooperative Inc., Zambales 11 Electric Cooperative Inc, Olongapo Electricity Distribution Inc., Subic Enerzone Corp., and San Fernando Electric Light and Power Co. attended the two-day seminar on Overcurrent Protection Relay held at Subic Park Hotel.

NGCP Protection Services Division Unit Head Engineer Rodel Concepcion was the resource person.
