NBI nets P3-b shabu in San Juan

THE National Bureau of Investigation has arrested six people and seized about P3.35 billion worth of shabu over the weekend in San Juan City.

The NBI said this was one of the biggest hauls in the government’s intensified narco-war, which has focused heavily on eliminating street-level dealers.

The raid on Friday afternoon, which yielded 560 kilos of shabu kept in 56 bags, was the result of a month-long surveillance on the house along Mangga St. in Barangay Little Baguio.

Police said six people were in the house where the drugs were seized—three Filipino and the others were either Taiwanese or Chinese.

“We have been watching the house for more than a month after an informant came to authorities, telling us about the illegal drugs trade in the area,” said Eastern Police District chief Romulo Sapitula said.
