Empowering next-gen financial literacy

Children aged 7 to 12 across the Philippines are gaining crucial financial literacy through Pru Life UK’s Cha-Ching program, which aims to enhance money management skills among Filipino youth.

Recent data from the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) highlights a significant gap in financial literacy, with only 20 percent of Filipinos answering basic financial questions correctly and just 25 percent understanding fundamental financial concepts, according to the World Bank. This underscores the urgent need for improved financial education.

In celebration of International Youth Day, Pru Life UK, through its Cha-Ching program developed by the Prudence Foundation and in collaboration with Junior Achievement Philippines, is addressing this need.

The program, featuring animated, music-based cartoons created with Cartoon Network Asia and Dr. Alice Wilder, an Emmy Award-winning Children’s Educational Specialist, focuses on teaching essential financial skills.

Cha-Ching also involves parents by providing online resources and engaging activities to support and reinforce their children’s financial learning. This year, the program reached a milestone by educating one million students nationwide on basic money management.

Pru Life UK is dedicated to equipping young Filipinos with the knowledge needed for sound financial decision-making, laying the groundwork for a more secure and prosperous future. The company continues to support accessible health and financial solutions to help Filipinos confidently navigate their financial journeys.
