MPCALA Holdings Inc. has announced that the Cavite-Laguna Expressway (CALAX) Governor’s Drive Interchange has reached 25% of its completion. This crucial interchange is anticipated to open by the first quarter of 2025 and is expected to alleviate traffic congestion on key roads in Cavite, particularly Aguinaldo Highway in Silang, while also boosting economic activity in the surrounding municipalities.
Spanning 7.8 kilometers from the Silang (Aguinaldo) Interchange to Governor’s Drive, this segment will become the longest operational section of CALAX upon its opening. Current construction efforts include excavation, bridge and drainage work, and fence installation.
In addition to the Governor’s Drive Interchange, two other significant segments of CALAX—the Open Canal Interchange and the Kawit Interchange—are progressing steadily at 15% and 25% completion, respectively, with both expected to open by the third quarter of 2025. Currently, CALAX accommodates over 45,000 motorists daily, and the full expressway connection to the Manila-Cavite Expressway (CAVITEX) is projected to serve at least 95,000 motorists, significantly enhancing traffic flow and accessibility in the region.
