Seres enters PH with refined electrification platform

In a landscape dominated by mainstream automotive brands, a new player has emerged to challenge the status quo – Seres, the Chinese electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer, has officially launched in the Philippines. Through its local distributor, QSJ Motors Philippines, Seres aims to redefine the notion of premium and sustainable mobility in the country.

As a relative newcomer to the Philippine market, Seres’ reputation has been built on its expertise in electrification, including the development of advanced battery systems, electric drives, and control modules. This technological prowess is reflected in the brand’s diverse powertrain offerings, which include pure electric, range-extended, and hybrid configurations – all based on the versatile MF platform.

Seres is not just another Chinese car brand,” said Kevin Chiang, the Managing Director of QSJ Motors Philippines. “We are here to introduce a new level of refinement, technology, and driving experience to Filipino consumers who are seeking a premium electrified solution.”

At the launch event in Okada last weekend, Seres unveiled three models that showcased the brand’s ambitions – the Seres 5, the Seres 5 Saker Falcon Edition (SF), and the Seres 7. These vehicles immediately stood out with their impressive build quality, luxurious interiors, and advanced features.

The Seres 5, a five-door electrified crossover, has been benchmarked against the Porsche Macan GTS, boasting an estimated 0-100 km/h time of just 4.4 seconds. The Seres 5 SF variant further enhances the model’s appeal with a unique tear-streak front lighting element and additional premium touches.

For those seeking a more spacious and versatile electrified SUV, the Seres 7 offers a three-row seating configuration, complete with captain’s chairs in the second row and a panoramic glass roof – a testament to Seres’ commitment to delivering a truly premium experience.

“Seres is not just about the vehicles themselves,” added Chiang. “We are here to redefine the way Filipinos perceive and interact with electric mobility. With our focus on technology, luxury, and sustainability, we are confident that Seres will carve out a unique niche in the Philippine automotive landscape.”

As Seres embarks on its journey in the Philippines, industry observers and consumers alike eagerly await the opportunity to put these new electrified offerings to the test, eager to see if the brand can indeed deliver on its promise of a refined and technologically-advanced driving experience.
