Suzuki’s latest offering, the XL7 Hybrid, has recently captured the attention of the local motoring media, who experienced the vehicle’s impressive fuel efficiency during a long-distance test drive. The Suzuki Exciting Excapade, a media event held from the Suzuki Kawit Showroom to the Phoenix Station in Nasugbu, Batangas, showcased the XL7 Hybrid’s exceptional performance.
The 72-kilometer journey saw 36 participating media personnel divided into 12 Suzuki XL7 Hybrid vehicles. To the amazement of both the media and Suzuki Philippines officials, the vehicles achieved an average fuel consumption of just 1.7 liters. Even more impressive, the winners of the test, with three participants per car, managed to complete the route using just over a liter of gasoline. The second-place finisher consumed around 1.3 liters.
Suzuki Philippines had previously conducted an official mileage test with experts, which had the XL7 Hybrid registered at 22 kilometers per liter. Based on this figure, the media test drive should have consumed around 3.3 liters of fuel. However, the actual results far exceeded these expectations, highlighting the XL7 Hybrid’s exceptional fuel efficiency.
The test drive route took the participants through various road conditions, from the plain and smooth roads of Cavite to the steep and winding sections leading into Nasugbu. Despite these challenges, the XL7 Hybrid maintained its impressive fuel economy, leaving both the media and Suzuki officials in awe.
Norihide Takei, the director and general manager of Suzuki Philippines’ automobile division, enthusiastically welcomed the participants, noting the much-anticipated event and the opportunity for them to experience the New XL7 Hybrid firsthand.
The XL7 Hybrid’s appeal extends beyond its fuel efficiency, with Suzuki describing it as “an exquisite package of a vehicle crafted to amplify your power to make bold moves whenever and wherever.” The model boasts a robust SUV look combined with the practical utility of an MPV, making it a compelling choice for Filipino consumers.
Suzuki’s dedication to intelligent hybrid solutions is evident in the XL7 Hybrid, which features a 12V Hybrid Technology that optimizes fuel efficiency without compromising power. The K15B engine with an Engine Auto Stop Start System further enhances fuel efficiency by up to 13% in urban driving conditions.
