Korean Embassy extends simplified visa program for Metrobank cardholders

Planning a trip to South Korea? The Korean Embassy has extended its Simplified South Korean Tourist Visa Program for Metrobank credit cardholders until Dec. 31, 2025, making it easier for Filipino travelers to experience the country’s famed K-dramas and hallyu culture.

Under the program, eligible Metrobank cardholders can use their credit card statements instead of traditional financial documents when applying for a tourist visa. Qualifying cards include the Metrobank Travel Platinum Visa, Metrobank World Mastercard, and Metrobank Platinum Mastercard.

Applicants only need to provide a Certificate of Employment, a photo of the front side of their credit card, and billing statements from the past three months to complete the visa requirements.

Metrobank credit cardholders can take advantage of exclusive travel booking discounts through Klook. These include 20 percent off on hotel accommodations for a minimum spend of P10,000, capped at P4,000, valid until Dec. 31. Discounts also apply to tours and activities with 20 percent off for a minimum spend of P5,000, capped at P4,000, and valid for two uses within the same period. Additionally, flights are eligible for a 20 percent discount for a minimum spend of P10,000, capped at P4,000, also valid until Dec. 31.

Promo codes are required to redeem these discounts; further details are available on the Klook platform.

Metrobank is also running its Big Travel Bonus promotion, allowing cardholders to earn up to P20,000 in electronic gift certificates for travel-related spending until Jan. 15.
