Shopee Philippines partnered with the Office of Second Albay District Representative Cong. Joey Sarte Salceda to distribute ₱1,000,000 worth of rice aid to over 20,000 individuals impacted by the ongoing unrest of Mayon Volcano.
The rice aid provided sustenance to those temporarily displaced in Ligao, Guinobatan, Camalig, Daraga, Tabaco, Malilipot, and Santo Domingo—making it one of the most extensive relief initiatives for Mayon evacuees to date.
“We, at Shopee, are grateful to work with Congressman Salceda to help the communities affected by the ongoing activity of the Mayon Volcano. With this collaboration, we are heartened to be able to use our network and resources to assist more municipalities in dire situations, providing immediate relief to families during this difficult time,” said Vincent Lee, Head of Shopee Philippines.
Congressman Joey Salceda shared, “Shopee Philippines has been one of our most generous partners, assisting some 5,813 families across seven (7) municipalities and cities. This is one of the largest relief operations for Mayon evacuees so far. Their support was end-to-end, from preparation to logistics to delivery. It’s a model for corporate social responsibility: sweating even the smallest details to assist efficiently and treating even the neediest of people as clients to be served. Salamat Shopee!”
Over the years, Shopee has expanded its umbrella CSR program Shopee Bayanihan to support disadvantaged communities. This program also enables users to express their solidarity towards the victims of other calamities, echoing the company’s commitment to nurturing a sense of shared compassion and goodwill in times of vulnerability.

We remain unwavering in our mission to be a force for good, offering essential support to those in need. We look forward to reaching more underserved communities through Shopee Bayanihan to incite positive impact and change through technology and innovation.” Lee added.
