Lexus electrified vision: Now a luxurious lifestyle

Lexus recently launched its new UX 300e, a significant evolution of the company’s first battery-powered electric vehicle (BEV) model, and is set to make its world debut. With deliveries set to start in the spring of 2023, the upgraded UX 300e will join the redesigned UX 200/250h unveiled earlier this year.

Ever since the RX 400h, the world’s first hybrid SUV launched in 2005, the luxury car industry has shifted towards electrification. In line with the electrification vision “Lexus Electrified” introduced in 2019, Lexus seeks to address the various needs of customers throughout the world by offering a diverse selection of electrified vehicles, from hybrid electric vehicles (HEV) to plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEV) and BEVs.

As Lexus continues to refine the timeless experience of driving by using electrification technology to greatly improve the fundamental performance of the automobile through its first BEV model and core part of the UX family, “the UX 300e incorporates the continuous performance improvement and evolution of advanced technologies applied to the UX 200/250h unveiled earlier this year, while enhancing the qualities specific to an all-electric car,” said Lexus International Chief Engineer Mitsuteru Emoto.

“Most notably, based on an “Always On” philosophy, we significantly extended the cruising range to further enrich the lifestyles of our customers. As a leading light for “Lexus Electrified,” the refinement of UX 300e is a key step on the path towards a carbon-neutral society,” he added.

The newly built battery pack has increased capacity from 54.4 kWh to 72.8 kWh, giving the BEV powertrain significant improvements in terms of performance and longevity – with an improved cruising range of more than 40% greater than its predecessor.

And to further complement the complete driving experience, the “Lexus Safety System +” active safety technology’s capabilities – such as pre-collision system with pedestrian detection (PCS), dynamic radar cruise control (DRCC), lane departure alert (LDA) with lane trace assist, among others – are developed to be more intelligent, and to provide the perfect blend of luxury, safety, and security.

Lexus unveiled the UX 300e in 2020 as the company’s first production BEV vehicle. Following that in 2022, a specifically designed BEV model, the Lexus RZ, was unveiled. As the brand quickens their development and acceptance to help realize a carbon-neutral society, cumulative sales of Lexus electric vehicles as of the end of August 2022 are estimated to be over 2.3 million units.

Being a global luxury automotive brand with an unwavering commitment to bold, uncompromising design, exceptional craftsman-ship, and exhilarating performance, Lexus has developed its line-up to meet the needs of the next generation of global luxury guests. And to couple it with a greener and cleaner vision that is savored as early as today, what more can you ask for?
