Shortly after, on September 22, 2024, the DMW’s Disenteng Trabaho para sa Marinong Filipino, in celebration of the 29th National Seafarers’ Day further solidified the government’s support for the Filipino seafaring community. The job fair, in collaboration with BDO, connected thousands of maritime professionals and aspiring seafarers with over 30 licensed manning agencies, offering roles in cruise lines, cargo ships, and offshore facilities. In his speech, DMW Secretary Hans Leo Cacdac said that job fairs are important in providing opportunities to our seafarers and in ensuring that they go through the legal recruitment process.
