Fun and thrills blend with premium sound at 2nd JBL Golf Cup

The 2nd JBL Cup Golf Tournament recently transformed the prestigious Tagaytay Midlands Golf Club into a vibrant arena of excitement, camaraderie, and competitive spirit. The event proved to be a resounding success, drawing golf enthusiasts from the media, distributors, and dealers for an unforgettable day of sport and celebration.

The tournament not only underscored the exceptional golfing talent of executives and weekend enthusiasts alike but also reinforced JBL’s unwavering commitment to excellence, innovation, and superior sound quality.

As the sun set over Tagaytay Midlands, the tournament crowned its champions. In Class A for media players, Atty. Eugene Riego emerged as the champion, with Anton Barandiaran and Widarico Comia securing first and second runner-up positions, respectively. The Class B media division saw Randy Caluag claim the championship, followed by Albert Hidalgo and Frederico Miguel Alegre. In Class C, Waylon Galvez took top honors, with Eric Montelibano and Melvin Calimag rounding out the podium.

The guest division saw equally thrilling performances. RJ Rizada triumphed in Class A, fo llowed by Jens Knuttel and Ding Miranda. Jesi Balmores secured the Class B championship, with Bobby Zamora and Joel Orduna as his closest competitors. In Class C, Allan Cristobal emerged victorious, with Arlan Sallan and Atty. Conrad Cereno placing second and third. The Ladies Division was fiercely contested, with Patricia Hizon claiming the top spot and Reese Balba stro securing runner-up honors.

Special awards were also handed out, recognizing outstanding individual performances. Vince Hizon smashed the longest drive on Hole #6, while Rizalina Uy displayed pinpoint precision to claim the Most Accurate award on the same hole. Jimbo Figueroa showcased his skill by landing Nearest to the Pin on Hole #17, adding to the day’s many highlights.

A ceremonial tee-off set the tone for the day, led by esteemed guests including Jordan Tan from Manila Bulletin, Bobby Zamora, Rotary District Governor of District 3800, Jun Farcon, Rotary Past District Governor and Endowment and Major Gifts Adviser for Zone 10A, Philippines, and Celso Montalla, Rotary District Governor Nominee of District 3800. As the players embarked on the challenging yet picturesque course, the lush fairways and dynamic course conditions heightened the competitive energy, keeping participants and spectators engaged throughout the tournament.

Beyond the competition, the tournament radiated an atmosphere of fun and entertainment. Many participants enjoyed their rounds with JBL Soundgear Frames, experiencing immersive audio while staying aware of their surroundings.

Others mounted JBL speakers on their golf carts, ensuring an energetic soundtrack as they navigated the course. The excitement carried on beyond the greens, with live music performances, an exhilarating JBL raffle, and the grand prize—a brand-new Vespa S125—bringing joy to the lucky winner.

With the success of this year’s event, JBL is already setting its sights on an even bigger and better tournament next year. “We look forward to making next year’s tournament even more spectacular,” Secreto enthused.
