The blue Toyota Corolla/Carib (Entry #052) of Manila Standard’s Boy Bautista emerged victorious at the Bumper to Bumper (B2B) Car Show, the biggest running outdoor car show in the Philippines and in Asia at the Concert Grounds of SM Mall of Asia last Dec. 7 and 8, 2024.
Competing against over 400 vehicles, the Toyota Corolla/Carib secured two top honors: Best Contemporary Car and 2nd Best Toyota 90s Heavy Modification.
The B2B Car Show, Asia’s longest-running outdoor car show, celebrated its 20th anniversary this year with an event that showcased a diverse range of vehicles, from elite supercars to rugged off-roaders.
Founded by Jonathan Chio, the B2B series has evolved from a local automotive exhibition to an international phenomenon, with a presence in the Philippines, Canada, Japan, Australia, and soon the USA.
In this year’s milestone event, the Toyota Carib, owned by Bautista, stood out for its craftsmanship and innovative modifications. The vehicle features a unique combination of parts from the 8th-generation Toyota Corolla and the 3rd-generation Toyota Sprinter Carib.
The setup includes a Carib front cut, JDM trunk, OEM privacy glass, WORK Meister S1 wheels from Japan, Silver’s Neomax coilovers, and a fine-tuned suspension system, front brakes was upgraded to big rotors and the rear drum brakes was upgraded to disc brakes, FGK chambered muffler and Mitsuba Arena II horn with echo function.
The car boasts of a JBL sound system, complete with the GT-12BP subwoofer, delivering powerful and high-quality audio performance.
The car previously earned the Best Toyota Medium Modification category, 2nd Best Toyota Sedan Category and 3rd Best Sub Compact Heavy Modification in the Bumper to Bumper XVI at the Mall Of Asia Open Grounds, Pasay City last December 11 and 12, 2021.
Bautista’s Corolla/Carib also bagged 2nd Best Millennium Award in the Midori Auto Showdown at the Midori Hotel and Casino in Clark, Pampanga on Dec. 4, 2021 and the Best Compact Car Category in the 2nd Valenzuela Auto Show held at the Valenzuela City Hall grounds on February 18, 2017. The car also won 1st place in the Best in Paint category and secured 1st place in the Best Compact Car category and also the top award in the Best Toyota Heavy Modification at the Bumper to Bumper Car Show Pampanga 7 at the Clark International Speedway last February 5, 2022.
