The AGILA (Eagles) organization, through one of its officer Atty. Josef Cea Maganduga, has seen an upturn in the requests for laboratory services of indigent patients.
While others may have the funds for hospitalization, more and more Filipinos are in need of laboratory services (X-ray, CT Scan, MRI, etc.) and can hardly afford the cost of these essential medical procedures.
Either they ask the help of relatives and friends, or they troop to government agencies like DSWD and PCSO for their medical requests, but unfortunately, most of these laboratory requirements for said indigent patients are not covered by said offices.
Hence, AGILA is mounting a fund-raising Golf Tournament, with Hon. Imelda A. Papin as their guest celebrity. Ms. Papin, Incidentally, has been actively rendering social services for the poor and indigent patients through her foundation (the Imelda Papin Foundation).
She also happens to be a Board Director of PCSO.
Her heart is all for charity work. Day in and day out, the Foundation’s offices are visited by the ill and the injured, accompanied by their relatives, hoping to secure any assistance to help defray the expenses of mounting hospital bills and laboratory services.
It is on this premise that the Golf event was organized by her friends from the Fraternal Order of Eagles.
It will be held on December 20, 2024 (Friday) at Tagaytay Midlands aptly titled AGILA-IMELDA PAPIN CHARI-TEE GOLF CUP.
This will be participated in by approximately 80 golf enthusiasts who have committed their time and effort to play for a worthy cause.
Fortunately, several sponsors (individuals and companies alike) have stepped up to help, from among the long list are: the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR), Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO), and Mr. Vincent Tiong.
As for the players, junior and senior golfers alike will be participating under a system 36 format. From lawyers to politicians to businessmen, other public officials and even novices in the sport, the event will surely be an eclectic collection. Exciting prizes await the winners, among which are: Getgo Golf Car, Franchise of Parikit Manila, 5-star Hotel Accommodation (Singapore).
