ORGANIZERS of the 33rd Southeast Asian Games 2025 have approved 44 sports disciplines, with 567 events to be played in three provinces in Thailand.
The SEA Games Federation said its second SEAGF Council Meeting will be held in Bangkok, Chonburi and Songkhla from December 9 to 20.
The final calendar includes aquatic sports, athletics, archery, badminton, basketball, rowing, canoeing, cycling, fencing, football, futsal, golf, gymnastics, judo, shooting, table tennis, taekwondo, tennis, weightlifting, boxing, esports, karate, and chess.
Three demonstration sports — flying disc, tug of war and air sports — have also been listed.
Events like vovinam, finswimming, aerobics and dance sports won’t be held in the biennial meet.
The Federation also approved the bid of Malaysia to be the host of the 34th SEA Games in 2027.
