The competitions, which started last Sunday, will get the backing of Coca-Cola for the remainder of its matches.

“Its going to be exciting times for women’s football, for this year and next year. Right now, Coca-Cola is supporting the PFF Women’s Cup. Sana magtuluy-tuloy,” said PFF General Secretary Angelico Mercader during Friday’s presentation with the PFF at the softdrink company’s head office inside the Bonifacio Global City in Taguig.

Six teams are competing, namely Azzurri, Beach Hut, Kaya–Iloilo, Manila Digger, Stallion Laguna, and Tuloy Foundation.

The tournament welcomed the entry of members of the Philippine Women’s national squad, which saw action last year in the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.

Coca-Cola Vice President for Franchise Operations Pablo Noriega said the presence of the likes of Halli Long, sisters Olivia and Chandler McDaniel, and Inna Palacios in the different teams is truly inspiring.

“For the sport of football, we hope to inspire and instill pride, after what happened here in the Philippines with the FIFA Women’s World Cup last year. We are proud of the women who represented the Philippines in the tournament,” said Noriega.

National training director Freddy Gonzalez said have members of the national team in the tournament is uplifting.

“The league is important to our new players, because it provided competitive football for the last two years,” said Gonzalez.
