THE Philippines showcased its supremacy in the fastest-growing active sport with a masterful sweep at the Asia Pacific Obstacle Sports Championships held over the weekend in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Team Philippines brought home a dominant haul of nine gold medals, four silver medals, and eight bronze medals across various age categories in both men’s and women’s events.
Leading the charge were Filipina athletes Precious Cabuya, Kaizen Dela Serna, and Mecca Cortizano, who achieved a 1-2-3 finish in the elite female category.
The remaining gold medals were secured in the elite male category, boys and girls categories, open male and female categories, male and female team relay, and mixed team events.
This stellar performance comes on the heels of another triumph just two weeks ago, when the Philippine national athletes dominated the Spartan Race in Vietnam.
Sandi Menchi Abahan, Marites Nocyao, and Melissa Camos swept the gold, silver, and bronze medals in the pro female category, while Melvin Guarte and Jeff Regino secured a one-two finish in the pro male category.
