The Phoenix Super LPG Fuel Masters were looking forward to a better finish in the elimination round of the 48th Philippine Basketball Association Commissioner’s Cup.

But their 96-116 lost to the TNT Tropang Giga last Sunday changed all that as they dropped out of their lofty no. 2 seeding going into the quarterfinals.

The Fuel Masters went on to finish as the as the no. 4 seed after sharing an 8-3 win-loss record with San Miguel and Ginebra, which settled for the second and third seedings, respectively.

For coach Jamike Jarin, the Fuel Masters will just have to move on and make the most out of their situation.

“We’re the youngest team in the PBA. These are baby steps that we need to really get accustomed,” said Jarin.

The Fuel Masters clash with the fifth seed Meralco Bolts at 4 p.m. at the Philsports Complex, while the top seed Magnolia Timplados Hotshots meet the TNT Tropang Giga at 8 p.m. on Wednesday.

“This will help us in the coming games and hopefully, we get the victory on Wednesday. Because Meralco is a very experienced team. So we have to play 48 minutes of selfless basketball,” said Jarin.
