Actress Kiray Celis has won the “Best Performance in a Comedy” award at the Ima Wa Ima International Film Festival 2024 for her role in director Njel De Mesa’s comedy film, Malditas in Maldives.
Expressing gratitude for her newest accolade on social media, Celis dedicated the win to her fans.
“Thank you so much. I hope you all get to watch our movie in the Philippines and see why we are absolutely proud of it,” Celis wrote in the caption of a post featuring photos of her holding the award.
She also extended her thanks to De Mesa, her co-stars Arci Muñoz and Janelle Tee, and the entire production team for bringing the film to life.
Celis’ win at the Ima Wa Ima International Film Festival 2024 follows her previous honors, including the “Breakthrough Performance” award at the Wu Wei Taipei International Film Festival in Taiwan and the “Best Versatile Comedienne” award at the Jinseo Arigato International Film Festival in Nagoya, Japan.
