Director Kip Oebanda’s hit Cinemalaya film “Balota” will have an exclusive screening for Malacañang Palace employees on Dec. 5.
According to a social media post by GMA Pictures, the production received an official invitation from DESFA-Malacañang and Eduksine for the screening. An open forum featuring Oebanda and cast members Will Ashley, Joel Saracho, and Sassa Gurl will follow.
The exclusive screening is part of the production and GMA Pictures’ outreach efforts to schools, organizations, and government agencies.
Starring award-winning actress Marian Rivera, “Balota” tells the story of a public school teacher striving to protect the last ballot box containing her town’s votes after an election descends into chaos.
Following its success at the 2024 Cinemalaya Philippine Independent Film Festival, “Balota” was released in cinemas nationwide on Oct. 16 and premiered at the Hawaii International Film Festival on Oct. 6.
