Streaming platform Netflix has finally revealed that the highly anticipated second season of Squid Game will premiere on Dec. 26.

In a surprise announcement, the streaming giant also confirmed that the global phenomenon will return for a third and final season in 2025.

Creator, director, and executive producer Hwang Dong-hyuk expressed his gratitude for the show’s overwhelming success.

“I am thrilled to see the seed that was planted in creating a new Squid Game grow and bear fruit through the end of this story,” he wrote.

Returning cast members include Lee Jung-jae as Player 456, alongside Lee Byung-hun, Wi Ha-jun, and Gong Yoo. Fresh faces like Yim Si-wan, Kang Ha-neul, and Park Gyu-young join the cast, promising to add fresh dynamics to the deadly competition.

The upcoming season picks up three years after Gi-hun’s shocking victory. Consumed by a desire to dismantle the sinister organization behind the games, he embarks on a dangerous mission to find the elusive recruiter. But as he delves deeper, he realizes the stakes are even higher, forcing him back into the lethal competition.
