Star Cinema’s Valentine offering My Ex and Whys top billed by Liza Soberano and Enrique Gil grossed P31.5 million on its opening day according to the film outfit’s official Instagram account.
The social media post uploaded on Feb. 16 had the caption: “Congratulations Team #MyExandWhys! The film earned P27 million on its first day of screening! Maraming salamat Kapamilya!” Later in the day, another photo was uploaded with a caption that says: “My Ex and Whys has earned P31.5 million to close the entire day.”
The date movie premiered on Feb. 15 in 250 screens nationwide. It was partly shot in South Korea and is the onscreen couple’s third film together with Everyday I Love You and Just the Way You Are being the first and the second, respectively.
Directed by Cathy Garcia Molina, who also directed the Kapamilya pair’s top rating series Forevermore, the romcom follows the story of a former playboy (Gil) trying to prove to his ex-girlfriend (Soberano) that he’s already a changed man.
