Comedy actress Rufa Mae Quinto voluntarily surrendered to the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) on Wednesday, Jan. 7, after an arrest warrant was issued against her by the Pasay court.
Rufa Mae arrived in the Philippines from San Francisco, California early morning where she was accompanied by her family, according to a report on “Balitanghali.”
NAIA-NBI Chief Jimmy De Leon confirmed that the actress’ lawyer coordinated with the NBI to facilitate her voluntary surrender. She also underwent a medico-legal examination before being transported to the Pasay court handling her case.
The case against Rufa Mae reportedly involves Dermacare, the same company connected to the recent legal charges against actress-entrepreneur Neri Naig.
Rufa Mae has not released an official statement regarding the case as of writing.
