Actor Archie Alemania submitted a counter-affidavit on Tuesday, Dec. 10, denying allegations of acts of lasciviousness filed against him by fellow actor and singer Rita Daniela.
According to a report by “24 Oras,” the counter-affidavit was filed at the Bacoor Hall of Justice as part of the ongoing preliminary investigation.
Accompanied by his lawyer, Atty. Ameir Muksan, Archie declined to provide a statement to the media after the submission. However, the prosecutor confirmed that the counter-affidavit disputes Rita’s earlier claims.
Meanwhile, Rita’s legal counsel, Atty. Maggie Abraham-Garduque, was also present during the proceedings. She emphasized efforts to ensure that both parties do not encounter each other during the legal process to protect Rita’s mental well-being.
“Because of the trauma that the victims of these crimes—well, of course, alleged victims of these crimes—are undergoing psychologically. So, as her counsel, I also have to protect her mental health. The counsel of Archie is amenable to that,” said Abraham-Garduque.
The lawyer also revealed that Rita is still struggling emotionally.
The next step in the legal process is set for Dec. 17, when Rita is expected to respond to Archie’s counter-affidavit.
