James Reid accuses ex-business partner Jeffrey Oh of fraud

Actor-singer James Reid revealed on Tuesday, Sept. 17, why he terminated his former business partner, Jeffrey Oh, from his artist agency, Careless Music Management.

In an interview with entertainment vlogger Ogie Diaz, Reid shared that Oh deceived him and owed him more than ₱100 million.

“I had no idea a lot of this was happening. It was actually happening for months. He had kept me separate from the rest of my team and in the dark about all these business dealings, telling me, ‘Oh, nothing’s happening, I’ll let you know,’” said Reid.

Reid also said he sought legal advice from an attorney to clarify his business dealings with Oh.

“I finally met with an attorney, Rodel de Guzman, and explained to him all the business dealings I had with Jeff, how much money he owed me, and the contracts he never gave me,” Reid continued.

After consulting with De Guzman, Reid decided to terminate Oh due to the lack of legal paperwork and permits.

“From his findings, it was his official recommendation to remove Jeff from all of our operations because of questionable business practices, lack of permits, and other issues,” Reid explained.

“There were many grounds, but the most basic and urgent was that Jeff is a foreigner. At the time of the audit we conducted, he did not have the complete papers to work in the Philippines. This was why the immigration filed a complaint against him,” De Guzman added.

In the same interview, Reid expressed his disappointment with Oh.

“At the end of the day, his true colors showed, and he’s a fraud. I’m very happy that he’s gone now. Our entire team, staff, and everyone are much happier that he’s out of the picture, and things are starting to make sense,” he said.
