‘A balancing act’: Michelle Dee draws laughs during Miss Universe PH 2024 Chelsea Manalo’s crowning moment

Serving as the highlight of the prestigious Miss Universe Philippines pageant, the passing of the crown from the reigning queen to the new titleholder is one of the most anticipated and revered moments of the competition.

While it is usually a moment filled with awe and applause, avid pageant fans couldn’t help but chuckle when Miss Universe Philippines 2024 Chelsea Manalo received her crown from reigning queen Michelle Dee. This was because Michelle had a bit of trouble placing the revered crown on Chelsea’s head, as Chelsea had her hair pulled back in a bun.

For a brief moment, Chelsea appeared to balance the bejeweled crown on her head before Michelle eventually fixed the mishap and secured it in place. However, the moment did not go unnoticed, and pageant fans took to X to make jokes about it.

Michelle saw the posts about the silly moment and took the time to share a photo of her properly putting the crown on Chelsea’s head.

“Ayan,” the beauty queen said, drawing laughs from fans as well as a few understanding words as some figured that she was probably tired from the whole event.

“At least I fixed it,” Michelle later added.

Bulacan-bet Chelsea Manalo was crowned as Miss Universe Philippines 2024 while Cainta’s Stacey Gabriel served as first runner up followed by Quezon Province’s Ahtisa Manalo, Baguio’s Tarah Mae Valencia, and Taguig’s Christi McGarry.
