SM Entertainment confirmed on Friday, April 12, that K-pop idol Winter of Korean girl group aespa recently underwent surgery for pneumothorax.
“Winter recently underwent surgery for pneumothorax and is currently recovering. As [pneumothorax] is a condition prone to recurrence, [the surgery] was carried out as a preventive measure in accordance with her doctor’s opinion, and the decision was made after plenty of discussion,” the post read.
The agency also said that it’s priority is for Winter to fully recover, affecting her schedule for group promotions.
“Regarding her future schedule, we will consider Winter’s recovery status our top priority moving forward,” it added.
aespa is now gearing up for a their much-anticipated comeback in May and will be followed by their “SYNK : PARALLEL LINE” concert tour, which will kick off in Seoul.
