“After hearing the news of the accident, I decided to donate in hopes of providing some help to the bereaved families. I express my deepest condolences and comfort to the bereaved families, as well as everyone who is grieving from this accident,” j-hope said in a statement.

In addition to j-hope, “Squid Game” star Im Si-wan also extended a helping hand by donating to the Hope Bridge Korea Disaster Relief Association.

“I would like to express my deepest condolences and words of comfort to the bereaved families who have lost their beloved family members in an unexpected accident overnight,” Im said.

En route from Bangkok, Jeju Air Flight 2216 crashed during its landing at Muan International Airport. The aircraft struck an embankment before exploding, leaving only two survivors among the passengers and crew. The tragedy has prompted the government to declare a national mourning period through Jan. 4.
