City of Dreams Manila will feature the successful actor and singer-songwriter Ariel Rivera in the 11th edition of the Centerplay Concert Series, happening for one night only on Aug. 28 at 9:00 p.m.
Rivera, an Original Pilipino Music (OPM) artist, was discovered in 1989 and rose to fame in the 1990s as the “Kilabot ng Kolehiyala.” His self-titled debut album was released in 1991, followed by a second album, “Simple Lang,” in 1992. Both albums achieved triple platinum status. Rivera’s chart-topping hits include “Sana Kahit Minsan,” “Simple Lang,” “Minsan Lang Kitang Iibigin,” and “A Smile In Your Heart.”
Throughout his career, Rivera has earned several awards, including Best New Male Artist at the Awit Awards in 1991, Best Performance by a New Male Recording Artist in 1992, and Best Supporting Actor at the 1992 Metro Manila Film Festival.
Ariel Rivera Live at CenterPlay follows a series of successful sold-out shows at the circular stage on the City of Dreams Manila’s main gaming floor. Previous OPM icons featured in the CenterPlay Concert Series include Noel Cabangon, Neocolours, Jinky Vidal, Yeng Constantino, Raymond Lauchengco, Janno Gibbs, Rey Valera, Ice Seguerra, Nina, and The CompanY. The upcoming concert will also feature alternating performances by DJs and bands, including Highschool Playlist and Swerve Band, from 7:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m.
CenterPlay, designed for ultimate entertainment, is a stylish lounge offering light meals, signature cocktails, beers, wines, and other beverages. Guests can reserve a seat or table with consumables starting at P3,000, which includes bar snacks, burgers, fries, and drinks. VIP couch seats for eight guests are available for P24,000, and VIP small tables for four are available for P12,000, both inclusive of consumables.
