Lola Amour caps off summer with ‘Umiinit’ series

After releasing its self-titled debut album last April, the eight-piece band launched a series of activities and pop-ups to cool down fans and casual listeners inspired by its single “Umiinit.”

The band launched TikTok clips called the Umiinit Dares, a series of challenges created by Lola Amour to beat the summer heat. Fans were free to join the challenge on social media.

Subsequently, the band’s Umiinit Refreshment Trucks roved across Metro Manila and Pampanga throughout May. The trucks kicked off last May 5 at the Marikina Riverbanks, followed by stopovers at the Quezon City Memorial Circle and Marquee Mall, Pampanga, respectively, offering complimentary refreshments for everyone.

To cap off the month, the band challenged their fans to a heated competition – the Umiinit Wings Challenge at the UP Town Center. Sponsored by Yellow Cab, fans got the chance to meet and compete against the band members in a wings speed-eating challenge. Winners took home special prizes, including the band’s Umiinit Hot Sauce, provided by Don Hulyo.

As the hot summer nights draw to a close and the Philippines transitions into the rainy season, the band gears up for another series of shows to promote their self-titled debut album, once again in collaboration with Ayala Malls.

The tour commenced last Saturday at Marquee Mall in Pampanga then went to Abreeza Mall, Davao City on May 26. The next legs will be Alabang Town Center, Muntinlupa City on June 8, Ayala Malls Vermosa, Imus, Cavite on July 6, and Fairview Terraces, Quezon City on July 20.

In between these shows, the band will also return to The Cozy Cove in Baguio City on June 29, following its debut performance at the venue’s intimate stage last September.
