Following his recent participation confirmation at the prestigious Round Festival in South Korea, P-pop idol Josh Cullen launches his latest single, “Sumaya,” under Sony Music Entertainment.
In his single, Josh mixes different kinds of music like R&B, pop, and hip-hop. He talks about what happens after a relationship ends, showing he cares about his partner’s feelings and happiness.
Sharing insights into the song’s inspiration, Josh reflects, “Sumaya encapsulates the painful journey of letting go and moving on from someone you once cherished deeply.”
The track resonates with listeners as it navigates the complex emotions of parting ways, alluding to the bittersweet memories of a past love.
Collaborating closely with co-producer Kael Guerrero, Josh meticulously crafted the song’s emotional depth, ensuring it resonates authentically with his audience. The addition of Tribute Collective’s unique touch further enhances the haunting and melancholic essence of “Sumaya.”
Accompanying the release is a captivating music video, directed by Josh himself alongside Jonathan Tal Placido. In the video, Josh is shown walking through a house full of important memories. It represents how hard it is to let go of the past and move on.
In discussing the music video’s creation, Josh extends gratitude to collaborator Miko del Rosario.
“He stuck with me during those late-night editing sessions. Despite the tight schedule and having no sleep at all, it wasn’t as stressful as I imagined. We were having fun, and their passion and dedication made the whole experience incredibly rewarding,” he said.
“Sumaya” is out now on all digital music platforms worldwide. The music video is available on Josh’s YouTube channel.
