Seasoned actress Ruby Ruiz, a main cast member of the hit series Linlang, brought pride to the country as she took on New York City for the premiere night of the Amazon Prime Video series Expats, co-starring with Hollywood actress Nicole Kidman.
“What an incredible experience I will always remember,” Ruiz said in an Instagram post.
The premiere took place at The Museum of Modern Art and was attended by other Expats stars Ji-young Yoo and Sarayu Blue. Fil-Am and Miss Universe 2022 R. Bonney Gabriel also graced the red carpet as a special guest.
The show unfolds a family tragedy across multiple timelines in six episodes, exploring the lives of women within Hong Kong’s diverse expatriate community. Ruiz plays the role of Margaret’s (Kidman) helper.
Prime Video describes Expats as a series depicting a “multifaceted group of women after a single encounter sets off a chain of life-altering events that leaves everyone navigating the intricate balance between blame and accountability.”
Based on the Janice Y. K. Lee novel The Expatriates, Expats the series is directed by Lulu Wang and premieres on Prime Video on Jan. 26.
