The National Police Commission (Napolcom) on Wednesday welcomed the designation of Police Col. Marlon Santos as acting spokesperson of Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr.
Santos concurrently serves as Senior Police Assistant to Nartatez, who is also Napolcom’s Ex-Officio Commissioner.
In this role, the police colonel works closely with the commission in advancing reforms focused on accountability, discipline, strategic communication, and stronger coordination between the Napolcom and the PNP.
He also conveys the directives, policies, and official positions of the PNP Chief to the public and the media, while helping communicate key programs, operational developments, and reform initiatives of the police force.
“I am grateful for the trust given to me by our Chief, PNP. Rest assured that we will do our job well and continue to provide fast, honest, and compassionate service to our countrymen,” Santos said in mixed Filipino and English.
He previously served as Provincial Director of the Cavite Provincial Police Office and Regional Chief of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group’s Regional Field Units 4A and 7.
