ANGELES City – Mayor Carmelo Lazatin, Jr. hails the creators of the short documentary titled “Siete Palabras” which garnered an award for “best documentary” at the 2024 International Film Festival in Manhattan.
The film, directed by Jayson Gantan Pabalan and produced by Nicanor Abelardo Soriano, celebrates the century-old tradition in Barangay Lourdes Northwest, showcasing the cultural and spiritual heritage of the community.
Lazatin cited the team’s achievement, noting that the documentary not only brought international recognition to the city’s rich history, but also fostered a deeper appreciation for local traditions.
“Their work highlights the beauty and identity of our city’s culture and resiliency. I commend them for representing Angeles City with such creativity, hardwork, and dedication,” Lazatin said.
The film, which delves into the community’s long-standing religious observance, was praised for its storytelling and for preserving the legacy of faith and unity that defines Barangay Lourdes.
