The Philippine Army’s 8th Field Artillery Battalion (FAB) has launched in Maimbung, Sulu an exercise on the use of mortars to cope with the challenges of modern warfare.
The Army said the drill aimed to improve the soldiers’ proficiency in handling mortars during skirmishes.
Troops from 41st Infantry Brigade and 11th Infantry Division took part in the exercise.
The collaboration of both units resulted in a significant enhancement of the latter’s mortar capabilities, the Army said.
