The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) is continuing its search and rescue (SAR) operations for the seven missing passengers of two motorbancas, the MBCA Ure Mae and an unnamed boat, that capsized off the waters of Caluya Island in Antique on August 26.

Initial investigation revealed that the boats departed Boracay Island at 4 AM on August 26 en route to Caluya, Antique.

Three hours later, the boats reportedly encountered big waves and inclement weather, causing them to capsize. The boats each have 20 passengers on board, including the boat captains.

The PCG, Municipal Police Station (MPS) San Jose, and MDRRMO-San Jose, immediately launched a SAR mission to locate and rescue the other passengers.

As of press time, the PCG reported 12 survivors: Junald Patricio, Garry Patricio, Arnold Terilijos, Alvin Salodes, Rhea De Vera, Jarenz Bernal, Joseph Tereliyos, Frederick Lompero, Luisa Ojana, and Arnel Belleca; 8 missing: Christian Aguilar, Vic Florendo, Roel Delloro, Joseph Delloro, Frankie Gajero, Rosauro Delloro and Zaldy Pacis, and 2 deceased Christopher Gajero, Marlon Belleca and Mark Delloro.
